Nayaki and Durbar are allied ragas and can almost end up sounding the same if not handled carefully. While Durbar is sung in a crisp manner without elongating the notes (quick phrases ggrs nndp ggrs being very popular), the main feature of Nayaki ragam is how the notes Ga and Dha are sung in an elongated manner.  Durbar is a fast paced melody not meant for lengthy elaboration while Nayaki is sung in a slower tempo. Ranganayakam by Muthuswamy Dikshitar is a classic Nayaki, the first line of the song is indicative of the raga structure.
